As
I am browsing through the new October issues of popular mags, I see that
"smoky eyes" are still hot! I have to say that I am very excited
because I feel this trend is a "forever thing." I can't see anything more
fabulous than dramatic smoky eyes. It is great for an evening out on the town or
even a lighter application for a day look.
NEW FAV'S . . . .
.
STILA
We always think of blacks and coal colors to create that smoky eye effect but I was doing
some research and found a great new product. I am such a fan of Stila eyeshadows. They are
so beautiful and enhance the eyes amazingly. I never go without my Barefoot Contessa
(burgundy brown color) or my Shell (light pearlish pink color). But you have to check out
the Bohemian Sage Eyeshadow Trio. These three jewel tone colors are great. The darkest
shade can be used as a liner or to create the dramatic effect and highlighted with the
other 2 lighter shades...definitely a good purchase for the fall.
I overall love green shades of eyeshadows -
they are my favorite. I know that Revlon has a great cream shadow palette. There are 4
colors that you can play with, but remember to keep it light and sheer or it can look like
a big old mess!
Chanels Les
Perles Eye Compact...
If you want to splurge a bit, definitely check out this new buy. Chanel has always been a
favorite of mine, too, but it is a bit $$$$. This new palette can create thousands of
different eye opening looks. Colors range from pastels to darker colors of pastels. If
your Birthday is coming up, definitely mention this as a present!
Girlactik
I will never stop using my glitter! It is an obsession. I don't know if everyone is
familiar with Girlactik cosmetics but you have to check them out. I am friendly with the
owner of Galit and she has really created a fabulous line of sparkling liners. You have to
apply the base first and then with a stipple brush, apply the sparkles. The best part is
that they are so sheer you don't have "glitter in the eye" drama! Also available
are great powders, nail polishes, and glosses. Check out the website, Girlactik.com. I
believe you can buy them at Nordstrom or various boutiques in California and other states.
Remember! When doing dramatic eyes it is
best to keep the lips neutral or glossy. As the old saying goes, less is more -- but then
again, there are no rules!!!!! |
