Homemade Facials

by CheapestSale

Did you know that your organic tea bag can be used for more than making a healthy drink?

You can use that tea bag for an excellent anti-oxidant home facial. Actually 1 tea bag per facial, a few drops of lavender oil, water and rice flour are all you need. You could use green tea and echinacea tea for a facial for acne prone skin, or just plain organic green tea for all skin types.

We all know that green tea is rich in anti-oxidants. Anti-oxidants neutralize free radicals that would otherwise damage the cells in your body. That is why drinking green tea is good for you.

Echinacea boosts your immune system, when taken for less than 4 weeks at a time. Beyond that, it loses its effect. Echinacea is excellent when your body has to combat flu or fight of bacterial infection. That is why it is useful for acne too. Some acne masks use echinacea.

Now choose the best organic green tea for your skin type.

1 day before you do the facial, test for allergies. Brew a cup of tea. When cool, dab some tea on the inner part of your wrist and leave it on. If it itches or you get any allergic reaction, wash it off immediately and do not do this facial.

If your skin feels good after leaving that tea on for half and hour, then the next day, if your skin still feels, great, then you may try the facial.

Brew a pot of tea and put in 1 tea bag. Let the tea cool. Mean while, wash your face with your regular cleanser.

Dry your face with a clean towel.

Next mix 3 tablespoons of cool tea with 3 or 4 tablespoons of rice flour. Just add enough rice flour so that the mixture is smooth, spreadable, but not runny. Add more tea if it is too thick.

Apply the mask on your face.

Leave it on for 15 minutes.

Rinse it off with lots of water, rubbing the mask to exfoliate your skin while you are at it. The fine rice flour is an excellent facial scrub.

Apply your regular moisturizer when you are done.

Note: If you do have sensitive skin do NOT try any homemade facials. You would run a risk of allergies.
