| << Question #BL001 Eyebrows My eyebrows are way too small. When I was in 8th grade I plucked them too
small and haven't grown them back since. I am too self-conscious about my looks. How can I
get back my eyebrows, and quick? Please help me - Jenna

You're probably out of luck if they haven't grown back by
now. You may have to resort to "permanent cosmetics" - tattooing. Just make sure
you find a technician who is qualified, and can tattoo the tiny hairs in the proper color,
and not thick lines in black. Ask to see photos of their work. Ask for references.

I suggest heading over to a MAC cosmetics store. They have
these really great angled brushes which mimic eye brow shape. The people who work there
are also VERY prone to filling in anyone's eyebrows-- you might end up looking like a drag
queen!! So head over there, ask them to fill in your eyebrows LIGHTLY and it will look
natural & good, I hate when people use a liner or even liquid liner-- the line ends up
looking trashy and fake. - Erica

Question #BL002 - eyelashes
Do eyelashes ever grow back? I am 15 years old
and I wear regular mascara everyday, it's not waterproof and it's not an expired product.
However during the day if I do so much as touch my eyelashes, I lose a few. Every night
when I wash off my mascara I lose up to five eyelashes. This is really worrying me and I
feel as though I don't have as many eyelashes as I used to, but I'm really curious to know
if they'll ever grow back. I don't want to be 20 and have no eyelashes. I think they are
my most important feature. ~ Dinenno, Woodbridge

Answer #BL002 - eyelashes
Hi, my aunt had the same problem with her
mascara. It turned out she had an allergy to it. Try switching to another mascara and try
not to apply it so much (like in times when you're just around the house). The lashes you
lost should come back. We are losing them all the time, I wipe away at least 3 a day (w/o
using mascara) and they are always full. GOOD LUCK! - Ashley
Editor note: Yes, she is right...give
your eyelashes a rest from mascara whenever you can. It is also very important that you
remove the mascara every night--and completely. Make sure you are not leaving
mascara at the base of the eyelash. You could suffocate and/ or clog the root.
Castor Oil is great for eyelashes.

Answer #BL002 - eyelashes
If you are losing more eyelashes than normal
with your mascara, it is too dry. Try soft and beautiful by Maybelline or Prescriptives
mascara from Holt Renfrew. throw out mascara after a month (that is the life span since as
air gets in the product dries up and loses quality). Don't pump the wand into the
tube, trying to get more product, this also dries the mascara. - E. Jay, NY

Question #BL003 - Eyebrow Waxing Botched
I got my eyebrows waxed today and the left one
was totally over waxed. My right one looks perfect though. They dont match in shape or
size and I look so ridiculous. Is there anything I can do? Product to help hair grow back
faster? Make-up to cover the botch-job I got? Anything to help??? - Lauren
>>
Answer #BL003 - Eyebrow Waxing Botched
Get a good, sharp eyebrow pencil that matches
your eyebrow color, and gently pencil the area in, hair by hair. Not big lines. Use
"feather" strokes so it looks like hairs. Waxing is too imprecise for eyebrows.

stick where the wax was applied. how can i prevent this? - tonya, seagoville
>> Answer #BL004 -
Eyebrows - Waxing
Try disolving the wax with warm olive oil.
Heat the olive oil in a metal spoon over a gas stove burner or over a candle. Careful--it
only takes a few seconds over the stove! Rub it into the waxy area. Then remove the oil
with soap & water or alcohol. - Ed

#BL006 - Eyebrow Plucking
When I first started plucking my eyebrows, I used to pluck
from the top and bottom however until recently I found out that you should never pluck
from the top and so I stopped. Now I'm left with a lot of dark hair above my eyebrows and
they're really starting to annoy me. What should I do? Please help. - Gina, Ottawa
>> Answer
#BL006 - Eyebrow Plucking
The reason for not plucking the eyebrows at the top is to
not disturb the natural arch, and flatten them out. Excess hair above that line can be
plucked. Just be careful to not pluck across in a straight line. - JP

#BL008 - Eyebrows - Make Darker - Coloring
I have blonde hair and have colored it black. I have used
eyebrow pencil or mascara to make my eyebrows black, but it's kinda' itchy. Any ideas
other than going to a salon?
>> Answer
#BL008 - Eyebrows - Make Darker - Coloring
You can dye your eybrows with the same dye you use to color
your hair. You just MUST be very careful not to get any in your eyes. Set aside a small
amount of the dye when you do your hair. Apply to your eyebrows using a toothbrush or
cotton swab. Try to saturate the eyebrow hairs without getting too much on the skin. Leave
it on the same time as your hair...less if your eyebrow hairs are very fine, longer if
they are very coarse. When done, scrub with soap and water really well making sure to get
the skin under the brows clean.

#BL009 - Eyebrows - Shaved & Growth Rate
Two years ago I shaved my eyebrows, I have less than half
an eyebrow on each side. I have shaved them every morning for two years, and I really want
them to grow back. As its the 6 week holidays from school, I have time for them to grow
back. But how long will it take for them to grow back? - Maddie, Magdeburg
>> Answer
#BL009 - Eyebrows - Shaved & Growth Rate
.16 millimeters per day for shaved eyebrows. However, you
will have sharply cut blunt ends. For the grown hairs to complete a full cycle--fall out
& grow back--with soft, pointed ends, will take another 56 days for each hair after it
is shed. They will shed at different intervals. But don't worry...you will be seeing
passable eyebrows that you can darken with an eyebrow pencil in about a week to 10 days (a
little over a millimeter and a half or half an inch). You've got plenty of time...
