Question #SK080 - Eczema - After Waxing
Eczema develops on my skin of arms and legs
after waxing. It develops after two to three days of waxing and disappears in a month.
Please tell me any solution. I will be very thankful. - Asma, Lahore
>> Answer #SK080 - Eczema
- After Waxing
Try this: Cleanse your legs with cider vinegar
after waxing (don't wash it off), then rub olive oil into the skin for the next 3 days. If
that doesn't work then try this...cleanse your legs with the cider vinegar and then do
wash it off. Then do this...and don't freak out...rub fresh urine (your own, of course)
into the skin twice a day for 3 days. Urine is excellent for the skin.

Eyebrows & Hairline
I have had problems with spots of exzema off & on since
teen years. Last winter it became intense around whole eye area, like a mask of redness
& itching. The only thing that helped was using olive oil all over my face & ears.
The inflammation caused me to lose almost all my eyebrows before it came under some kind
of control. Has anyone had an experience like that? Eyebrows are almost grown back in but
skin in eyebrow area is still sort of red. Eczema seems to have moved more up into my
hairline on my forehead now which is causing slight swelling also at my hairline on my
forehead. Has anyone out there had scalp glands swelling due to irritation from eczema?
Swelling decreases as I have used tea tree shampoo & Eucerin cream at hairline. -

Eyelids - Fingers - Neck - Armpits
I'm a girl in high school and I have eczema on
my eyelids, under my eyes, fingers, under my neck and also the crevices of my arms. I'm so
terribly itchy and it's embarrassing to go to school without someone looking at me funny
or saying I have leprosy. I use A&D ointment on my fingers and works really well but
it doesnt work anywhere else!!! I need help to make this go away, I make myself bleed to
stop the itching it's so bad. Please if some one can help me, but I refuse to use
hydrocortisone creams or anything like that because many don't work and have harmful side
effects. I'd rather be dead than have to deal with this-- it's driving me crazy and I
can't concentrate!! Please someone help me!! - Marissa, North Syracuse

As we have mentioned before, there is no
"cure" for eczema, and there are plenty of suggestions to try right here in this
forum. We suggest you read the entire forum and try some of the "treatments"
that have worked for others. And do try to determine if you have any allergies or
sensitivities. You are going to have to work at this--there is no magic bullet. - Ed

Dark Spots
I'm 18 years old. Eczema has been part of my body since I
was 1 year old. At first it started in the back of my knees, then it went to my arms. My
arms are all covered with dark spots. I have tried a lot of things to get rid of them but
nothing. Grains (?) come and go but the dark spots stay there. I'm always wearing long
sleeves and sweaters. I'm embarrassed to show my arms and legs. Can someone help me get
rid of the dark spots? I will really appreciate it. - Joanna, Compton

Some suggestions I have run across: Mederma cream--this is
actually for scars, but some say it works. Vitamin E and cocoa butter--many swear by it.
The concensus is: they eventually fade on their own. You might try speeding up the process
with a skin lightening cream, and always wear a strong sunblock. - Ed

Eyebrow Waxing
My daughter has eczema--mostly on her legs and
arms. She needs an eyebrow makeover. I can't find any data on eczema and waxing. Is that
mutually exclusive? My daughter has eczema- mainly on her legs. Can she get her eyebrows
waxed? - Mary, Pittsburgh
>> Answer #SK087 - Eczema -
Eyebrow Waxing
It seems that most people with eczema have
super-sensitive skin. Waxing is a pretty brutal process. I tried to wax my upper lip, and
ended up with welts all over the lip, even though it didn't cause eczema to appear there.
I think you might be safer with the old tweezer method. - JP, San Diego

Eyebrow Waxing
You might try getting her eyebrows sugared. It
is much gentler on the skin than waxing. - Kordula, WF

Eczema - Climate - Carpeting
Does the climate you live in affect one's
eczema? Can it make it better or worse? Does having carpet in one's residence make eczema
better or worse? - Ebony, Orlando
>> Answer #SK088 -
Eczema - Climate - Carpeting
As a change in climate affects the entire
body, many have reports a change in climate affecting their eczema both for better and
worse. There is no hard data on this and nothing definitive as to which is worse or
better: dry, wet, hot, cold. It varies according to the individual.
As for carpeting: it is believed that eczema
has an allergic component, and with carpeting comes dust, and when new, glue (carpet and
padding) and dye fumes, both of which can affect allergies, and possibly eczema by
wreaking havoc with the immune system. - Ed
